Mommies, Would you rock this look?

Mommies, Would you rock this look? I most definitely would slay the gray and try this delicious combination. Although I would have to swap the sneakers for some heels! ~Muuuah

Kids who are ready for school but....

Hello Parents!
Today I would like to discuss what to do when your child(ren) are ready for school but the public school system says they are too young. I have a reading, writing, counting, three year old that I feel is ready for public school but I was advised from the state of Georgia that she would need to be five years old prior to September 1st to attend any public school. Fed up with the public school system's rule, I decided to utilize every free educational resource available to me and I would create my own school system curriculum. Gigi is at an age where she is a vacuum and the more she learns the better. Each morning after breakfast I start her with a curriculum designed specifically for her. My daughter is a three year old on a First grade level. I begin reading to her in the womb. I would sing, count, and identify colors from birth. Sorry to veer a little off topic (smile). I use site cards that I have designed for her so that she can identify with words, numbers, and objects around the house. If you have ever seen the movie The Color Purple when Nettie was teaching Celie how to read and recognize words by taping the written index cards to the object it belongs to is one of the methods I use. It works! I have also signed up for ABC Mouse. With all of the hype about the program I was expecting the program to be a little more challenging. Gigi loves playing on the app but I feel what they are teaching her on the 1st grade level she already knows. I do like leapfrog because it's more traditional. I set weekly and monthly goals for Gigi. So hopefully by the time she 's in first grade, she'll be on a 5th grade level.
I am a firm believer that if your kids can sing Miley Cyrus & Beyonce's songs, then they are capable of reading the lyrics.
Be Great Everyone!

YouTube "Adult Content" Kid Videos

Hello Parents,
Today I just wanted to bring attention to the kid friendly videos that are on Youtube. Please take the time to preview and monitor the videos that you are allowing your children to watch. There are indecent individuals out there that are clipping parts of a kid video and inserting adult and inappropriate content in the middle of the videos. If you are not viewing these videos with your kids to catch this insanity, then you will not know. The video's audio is not clipped. It runs none stop through out the entire length of the video. Google and Youtube are working together to prevent this from happening so they have launched KidYoutube.  Even after launching KidYoutube, some parents are still finding inappropriate content. The CCFC is requesting that Youtube become a little bit more aggressive and preview the videos before allowing these videos to be uploaded online. I agree 110%. The first thing I want to do as a parent is to protect my child's innocents as long as possible. There are some measures you can take as a parent and they are:
4. Adjust the safety mode on Youtube to filter out adult content as much as possible.
3. Create a playlist on youtube specifically for you child(ren).
2. Use other apps such as Sprout, Kideos, etc. I have not heard anything negative about these apps to date.
1. Last but not least, Watch and monitor the videos with your little ones.
Make sure to check out my video on Youtube!

Hot Mama! Hot Shoe!

I went out shopping for my sister's birthday gift and look what I found! This glitter fabric upper peep-toe is constructed with an adjustable back closure for an easy on and off. It's loaded with rhinestone accents for sparkle and shine. The heel is about 4 1/2 inches. This shoe is called "Angelina" from Hot Tomato and it retails for $39.99. After trying on the shoe I realize that beauty maybe the only good characteristic of this shoe. It is not the most sturdy shoe. As far as comfort I would give the shoe a 3 out of 5 Incredible Stars. However, we women tend to gravitate to a shoe based on beauty instead of comfort, therefore I will be wearing these babies to my sister's birthday bash and taking one for the team! No pain No gain!

Hand In Hand Pub

Hand in Hand Pub located 752 N Highland Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30306. Hours of operation vary depending on the day of the week.  I visited this spot last Monday evening for a mom's dinner with the ladies. This spot is a neighborhood bar but as long as you're out of there before 9pm it is suitable for minors. I must admit that this tiny gem sits in the cut almost unnoticed. The waitress comes out immediately with these tall glass bottles of water..which was a cute gesture but the water tasted like tap. Yuck. The menu was too wordy for basic bar food. However the prices were great because it's 50% off the menu on Monday nights! I ordered a side of wings, fries, and deviled eggs. The total came in at just over $10! Did I mention the deviled eggs are to die for! Out of 5 stars I will give this establishment 3.5 stars. The waitress could've been a little more attentive.
