Kids who are ready for school but....

Hello Parents!
Today I would like to discuss what to do when your child(ren) are ready for school but the public school system says they are too young. I have a reading, writing, counting, three year old that I feel is ready for public school but I was advised from the state of Georgia that she would need to be five years old prior to September 1st to attend any public school. Fed up with the public school system's rule, I decided to utilize every free educational resource available to me and I would create my own school system curriculum. Gigi is at an age where she is a vacuum and the more she learns the better. Each morning after breakfast I start her with a curriculum designed specifically for her. My daughter is a three year old on a First grade level. I begin reading to her in the womb. I would sing, count, and identify colors from birth. Sorry to veer a little off topic (smile). I use site cards that I have designed for her so that she can identify with words, numbers, and objects around the house. If you have ever seen the movie The Color Purple when Nettie was teaching Celie how to read and recognize words by taping the written index cards to the object it belongs to is one of the methods I use. It works! I have also signed up for ABC Mouse. With all of the hype about the program I was expecting the program to be a little more challenging. Gigi loves playing on the app but I feel what they are teaching her on the 1st grade level she already knows. I do like leapfrog because it's more traditional. I set weekly and monthly goals for Gigi. So hopefully by the time she 's in first grade, she'll be on a 5th grade level.
I am a firm believer that if your kids can sing Miley Cyrus & Beyonce's songs, then they are capable of reading the lyrics.
Be Great Everyone!
